The unbearable grace of bioclimatic architecture
Right when Hamburg bans the use of coffee capsules and plastic bottles complying with the ecological directive, in Greece we prove that we are equally ecologically conscious.
For 4 days, Thessaloniki International Exhibition & Conference Center turned green! In a totally ecologic setting, full of grass and wooden benches, DPOINT GREEN VILLAGE, separated in 3 parts – Exhibition Corridor, 3D Box Theater & Conference Room – set architecture-related sustainability and ecology in the center of attention. Through the special project 0+ House, the first modular, it can be constructed off—site, ecological house in Greece as well as the 3day conference DPOINT GREEN CONFERENCE, the constructions sector had the opportunity to get in contact with significant professionals and experts of the topic and get informed regarding the new, more ecologic order.
0+ House was designed so as to meet current environmental, economic and social demands such as respect to the environment, energy efficiency, economy in construction, flexibility, ergonomics. With low cost and ecologic materials as principal features, the model green residence is easily made, according to the owner’s requirements and needs while it can be transferred and assembled quickly and economically.
Designed by the Thessaloniki-based architectural practice, MAKRIDIS ASSOCIATES, it complies with the principles of bioclimatic design and incorporates advanced systems of energy saving and production, along with the standard building methods.
Not only do is a green solution for a residence of modern perception but also it forms a solution that is superior to the conventional ones, given that it can be completed within 6 months and cost around 30% less.
DPOINT GREEN VILLAGE was organized by TIF-HELEXPO and Interiors from Greece during the Infacoma & Aqua-Therm fairs at Thessaloniki International Exhibition & Conference Center.
